We love to get down to Chicago, it’s kind of a second home to us. Lots of friends and family! Last weekend was a tour-de-force of what seemed like every cheese store ever. But really it was just seven.
Here’s Matt sampling at one of our favorite Chicago stores, Whole Foods South Loop. Here’s how cool they are: Kristin, who’s getting married this fall, is currently preserving lots of jars of Cherry Basil preserves as wedding flavors. We were trading tips on getting the jars to set up – always a challenge and especially with cherries, which don’t have a lot of natural pectin.
After our demo, we toured around to some stores we haven’t been to yet. One of our favorite displays: this pairing of Orange Marmalade and muffins. That’s just so cute. I can just imagine putting a little dollop of marmalade on one of those little muffins and having a little adorable session.
And here’s Susanna and me at a tasting, talking about the best Potter’s Crackers pairings to go with the preserves. Susanna is our intrepid Chicago demo woman, boldly commuting to cheese shops near and far and spreading the good word about Q&A!
